Michelle uses high quality materials and takes care to make each painting special. She uses cotton, cold pressed watercolor paper. The drawing and painting process is labor intensive and takes hours upon hours to create. First, she likes to meet with the subject and take photos. This is a possibility if the client lives within 20 miles of Boca Raton. Otherwise, she will paint from a photo that the client sends her.

Michelle draws in pencil first and makes sure everything looks perfect. It is important to make sure she captures the likeness of her subjects. All details are carefully rendered using a photo reference for the colors. Backgrounds can be replaced as long as the photo was taken at the same eye level as the sitter.

Once you have your completed portrait, take it to a professional framer who can help you choose a frame and a mat that works with your space. It is also important to get it professionally framed to make sure the painting is sealed properly inside the frame to prevent bugs and dirt from destroying the watercolor paper.
